HOMi
HOMI is a digital assistant that facilitates the daily intake of pills in medium-long term therapies. In addition to containing medicines and supplements, it combines daily well-being with the advantages of a home assistant: it is possible to ask questions, receive advice, communicate with doctors, pharmacies, and set reminders.
A simple digital assistant like HOMi is able to help a wide range of users to live more easily, with daily routines like taking pills at home or outside. Traditional reusable pill containers are difficult to open for most people, especially if we take into consideration the elderly target with often manual difficulties to handle small objects.
When it comes to the elderly it is necessary to ensure interactions of different ways in order to help them to feel comfortable to trust digital devices: the transparent storage units allow them to see which types of medicine are inside; through the touch screen, they can read and have tactile interaction with the device; and thanks to the vocal assistant they can interact with HOMi, in the same way, they would do it with a human caregiver.
